Today was Dave's last official day at the FIST and they held a special award ceremony in his honor.

Dave received the Coast Guard Commendation Medal from Captain Wiedenhoeft for his superior performance of duty at the FIST for the last 3 years

He also received a plaque from the 11th Coast Guard District for his superior performance of duty from LCDR Tomko!

We are so proud of you Daddy! Keep up the hard work!

1st day of Preschool

Today was probably the most emotional day for me since the girls were born. The girls had their 1st day of preschool today!

The three of us have been use to our daily regimen of waking up around 8am, eating breakfast together while watching our daily fix of The Wiggles or The Doodlebops. Then showering up and getting ready for our day together.... just the 3 of us....

it's all changed as of today...

we went to bed earlier than usual last night to prepare for the BIG day and woke up around 7am (it felt like the 1st day of school for me!), ate our breakfast and got ready for school. I made the girls lunch, something that is new for me, and packed it in their backpacks...off to school by 8am. The girls did fine until I had to stay longer than usual since it was their first day. When it was time for me to leave, Hannah wanted to "come home" and as much as I wanted to scoop her up and take her home with me, I had to be the strong Mommy and tell her is was all going to be okay and I would be back later to pick them up

...probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do...

when I picked them up at 12pm their teacher, Miss Kendall, couldn't have had better things to say about the girls. She was pleasantly surprised at how well the girls did. She figured they would have clinged to each other since they are in the same class and not socialize, but much to her and my surprise, they voluntarily sat at different table during the learning lesson and played with separate groups at play time!

Shannen and Josie, the girls' cousins have been spending the Summer here in Southern California which has been wonderful for the girls. All the girls are at the perfect age where they can all play together and really have a good time! We love spending as much time with Shannen and Josie as we can since they live in Northern California and don't get to see them as often as we would like!

Hannah and Alyssa spent the night at Grammie and Grandpap's house and had a sleepover with Shannen and Josie. This is the girls before they went to church with Grammie.

...29 weeks...

I'm at 29 weeks and still feeling really good, for the most part. I do have to say that this little girl inside me is one active little thing. To put it into perspective, she moves ALL day long and the movements aren't cute little kicks here and there... they are HARD pokes and rolls. I'm come the my own conclusion that carrying ONE baby is a lot more difficult than carrying 2! It's hard to explain while typing, but sometimes the movements take my breath away. However, as much as you may think I'm complaining, I wouldn't ask for it any other way. With all the movements, I am reassured she is healthy and ACTIVE!

I'm beginning to get a little anxiety about the nursery. I now have the fabric for the bedding, so I will be starting to work on that soon. I think I am going to register this week. Nicole has graciously offered her assistance with that because for some reason, I have NO idea what to register for. I realize it wasn't that long ago that I did all this with before, but I guess it's the "pregnancy amnesia."

I can't believe I only have 2 1/2 months to go!!!!!!

I had my monthly check up today and everything is coming along smoothly. I've gained a total of 19 lbs (yikes) with an expected 10 more to go.

Happy 3rd Birthday to my Sweet Angels, Hannah and Alyssa

Today was a wonderful celebration with friends and family honoring Hannah and Alyssa's 3rd Birthday! The day couldn't have turned out to be a better day.

Thank you to all our family and friends who were able to come and spend the day with us.

4th of July

Our 4th of July this year was by far the best for the girls. They had a BLAST at the parade watching all the floats ride by and especially the bands they could dance and sing to. After the parade, we all met at our house for a BBQ and a night filled with FIREWORKS! Surprisingly, the girls LOVED the fireworks and weren't afraid of them. Thankfully, the weather wasn't too hot and I wasn't too uncomfortable. I have to say, The 4th of July is my favorite holiday along with Christmas!
